As you all are probably aware by now, Broadway is on hiatus for the time-being based on the effects of the still in progress Coronavirus Pandemic. Recent reports say that its likely not to return until Winter when the year turns over but some even have pushed this as far as Spring 2021. One of the hottest plays currently on the stage is Lin-Manuel Miranda’s “Hamilton”. The play has been a blockbuster since opening and has won “11” Tony Awards. It was set to open in theaters everywhere sometime in 2021 but with the virus causing so many shows and events to be cancelled or postponed until indeterminate dates, the decision was made to stream this on Disney+ beginning on July 3rd. The trailer was recently released so let’s check that out along with the premise, casting and the official poster.
Storyline: The real life of one of America’s foremost founding fathers and first Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton. Filmed live on Broadway from the Richard Rodgers Theatre with the original Broadway cast.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: This is surely some cool news and a nice treat for those subscribers to the Disney+ streaming service. Currently I am not one of those people but anticipate being one again when the second season of “The Mandalorian” begins. “Hamilton” is definitely a play that I wanted to see on the live stage but its next to impossible to get a ticket nowadays and well, Broadway isn’t coming back until some time next year.
