And There Would Come – A Logo…….

I know, I know……you’re probably thinking that I read too many comic books and enjoy far too many of those Action Adventure films and as result tend to be a little grandiose from time to time. Of course I really think that all of that stuff makes me a little more interesting and creative and that brings me to this little posting here on the PiercingKen.com site. Behold the official logo of “PiercingKen!!!!” (queue dramatic music and thunderclaps).

Alright so I am kidding around here and don’t technically really have a logo for this thing but I did have two unique photos that when placed together in the same space did amuse me enough to pretend that I did. These two images were snared during various wanderings and that is what I love most about this side home on the web for my ideas. I get to be a little strange every now and again and play with whatever comes to my mind. I think you’ll agree that it works. The “piercing” image was taken from the window of a place that does……yes, you guessed it…..PIERCINGS……while the second image of “ken” is only part of a larger neon sign that stands high above the Gowanus Canal. I have other pictures of that and its a blog for another time.

That’s all I have for now my friends. Back to some photo editing for PiercingMetal.com but don’t you worry I am always ready to share whatever comes to mind outside of that with you here. Happy Thanksgiving.

Happy Halloween 2012 Everyone!!!

Okay so now that Hurricane Sandy has left our region, it’s time for us to try and get back to as much of a bit of normal as possible. I do hope everyone that reads my blogs is okay along with their loved ones. With that being said, I am starting off this fun post by saying “Yay it’s here again” and that means Halloween, one of my very favorite times of the year since the costumes are out along with the super spooky decorations. With that being the case I once again wanted to showcase some of the creeptastic coolness that I have seen while adventuring around our city. Enjoy and please feel free to eat a piece of candy while you peruse these visuals. Let’s start off by wishing the world a very Happy Halloween shall we.

I Think I Found The Batcycle In Bay Ridge……

I know that the title just had to get your attention and find you shaking your head saying “what in the world is he going on about this time”. Well, I am serious my friends, I truly think that I have discovered a clandestinely placed Batcycle. Let me explain. So the powerful Hurricane Sandy was on its way to our fair metropolis and I received a call from my friend The Beehive Hairdresser. It seemed as though he was up for a wander around the realm to see if anything struck his writing fancy before the storm hit us and since I am always game for this kind of adventure I joined along without argument. We wandered about a bit and chanced upon this next visual. Yes, a motorcyle and its sidecar. Now since one does not often see this kind of thing during the normal course of the day in 2012 I was convinced – It was the Batcycle.

Now you will of course think me crazy by saying this, and I completely understand since there are no clear “bat markings” or gadgets around it. It looks like a very normal motorcyle and sidecar but lets be honest here. If you were Batman and wanted to hide this thing, where would you do it if the Batcave was no where near you. Well you hide it in plain sight of course. Done and done.

I’m not going to say exactly where this was found but it was in the relative vicinity of the fortified headquarters of the PiercingMetal Command HQ so don’t be surprised if you live around here should you see a certain Caped Crusader zipping by on matters of justice.

That’s all I have for now my friends. Keep rocking.

PiercingKen Goes To The PDN Photoplus Expo 2012

Hey there my fellow photographically inclined maniacs. It was once again time for the PDN Photoplus Expo to take over the Javits Center and since this traditionally seems to follow the absolute chaos of the NY Comic Con that I cover on PiercingMetal (link HERE FYI); I like to attend and wander the exposition floor to relax a little and see what is coming out.

Canon had a nice learning stage with lectures and demonstrations. From a bit of a distance I tried to snap shots of the model that they were using today.

Adriana Louise: A Dukette Finds “The Voice” Part 2

You might remember me posting not too long ago about a young lady that I met who worked as one of the wonderful waitresses at our stomping ground Duke’s. If you don’t, a quick recap for you is HERE. Her name is Adriana Louise and she is an aspiring singer and she is competing for the big prize on the current season of NBC’s “The Voice”. Generally I don’t keep up with stuff like this but when you know the person involved, you kind of want to pay more attention and cheer them on from the sidelines. Even though Metal music flows through my veins I will be the first to raise my glass up to anyone whom is talented and brave enough to be a part of a competition like that.
