The 94th Academy Awards just finished their 2022 ceremony and the awards were doled out for the best films and those who helped make them according to the voting committee. While I didn’t manage to watch the ceremony based on my work schedule I’ve quickly culled together the winners. I’ve also left the other nominees so you could compare your personal favorites and perhaps even prepare a nasty letter should you feel something you were sure would win did not. Piercing Ken Thoughts: So I have to admit that I didn’t watch The Oscars as they were happening live and only began scanning for the winners once about 2/3’s of the ceremony had run its course. Not that you need this information but Sunday nights are early escape from work and there is a LOT to do once I get home. That meant that I was playing catch-up on “The Slap” and since we aren’t a gossip column here I can only say that I thought it was pretty crappy to have been done. I was mostly happy with the winners and think I will do something for “Dune” over on PiercingMetal.com since it won so many awards. That can’t hurt for some additional traffic either which I am always game for. I do admit some surprise about this whole “Oscar Cheer Moment” and seeing the Zack Snyder Justice League come out on top of the spectacular “Spider-Man: No Way Home” moment and the “Avengers: Endgame” moment. So many people watched that version of the film at home so how can you gauge it being the most cheered moment. I saw the film and that scene didn’t find me jumping around the apartment while the other two I mentioned nearly cost me an expensive bag of popcorn.
