Universal Pictures: “Cats” Official Trailer (Coming Christmas)

cats movie logo

Considering that I have so much Pop Culture stuff to share on the PiercingMetal website and when one adds to this the fact that the Comic Con International: San Diego has just begun, I admit that I was not all that aware that a live action film for the hit Broadway show “Cats” was even a thing. Of course it is and we have the first Official Trailer for this Universal Pictures release to share with you so take a look down below. I’ve also added in the premise and the massive casting along with the early released artwork. Enjoy.

The Premise: Over the course of a single night, a tribe of cats called the Jellicles make what is known as “the Jellicle choice” and decide which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.

Taylor Swift Breaks Vevo 100M Views Record

The Press Release:
On Sunday, Vevo confirmed that Taylor Swift’s “ME!” had broken the record for most views in 24 hours. Today, Vevo can confirm that “ME!” is now the fastest video to reach 100 million views.

The video for “ME!” featuring Brendon Urie of Panic! At The Disco eclipses records formerly set by Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next” and Taylor’s very own “Look What you Made Me Do.” This feat was managed in 79 hours following the release of the video on Friday, April 26th.

JP Evangelista, Vevo SVP of Content, Programing & Marketing said, “Taylor has consistently demonstrated the ability to break records on Vevo. She continues to expand upon a deep history of incredibly striking audio-visual work. Likewise, director Dave Meyers continues a storied career as one of the premier music video directors in our industry. On behalf of the Vevo family, we congratulate Taylor Swift & Republic Records on yet another historic accomplishment.”

Piercing Ken Thoughts: Now despite my not being among the fans of Taylor Swift since I like my music a lot heavier, I have to say that this is an incredible accomplishment for a single video clip. YouTube is one of the hardest places to build up a following these days but it doesn’t surprise me when it comes to Taylor because she works really hard on her craft and has a bankroll to bring in the most talented people in the industry to get things done. I did enjoy the clever playfulness and special effects in this clip and wish that I had the budget to do magnificent things with my own two channels for “The Chronicles” and PiercingMetal but alas – I don’t. What did you think about this clip and the milestone? Please feel free to chime in down below in the comments section. See you again soon.
