We touched upon the brand-new take on the vigilante series “The Equalizer” which stars Queen Latifah in the role of the series protagonist and will begin showing its season tonight after the Super Bowl. The Premise: The series chronicles the life of Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman and single mother to teenage daughter Delilah, with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn, acting as a guardian angel and a defender for those who cannot defend themselves while pursuing her own redemption.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: In my trailer post I had pointed out that I was nothing more than the casual fan of the original show and sadly I never got around to seeing the films which I liked the look of. That said, this did seem compelling and I will be programming it into my DVR starting after this evening’s episode. I’ll watch the premiere via the On Demand service I have on my cable plan because getting the full episode of anything after a long sporting event is always problematic. It annoys me with the amount of technology at their hands that a full show cannot be programmed without having a sporting event overlap or cause you to miss parts of the broadcast that you are interested in. Okay rant over. Now for those wondering why we are placing this new action drama on “The Chronicles” as opposed to PiercingMetal, well the answer is simple. With so many big geek films coming up along with television shows we will have our hands full with that stuff over there. So as I close this up I wonder what you readers think and if you plan on watching this new series and supporting the Queen as she metes out some justice on those who deserve a comeuppance.
