On June 20th, 1975, the Universal Pictures film “Jaws” became the first Summer blockbuster and kept beachgoers terrified about hitting the surf and rightly so. For it’s time it was truly ahead of the game and in honor of its 50th Anniversary the movie returns to the big screen for a limited time running from today 8/29 until 9/4. I’ve shared the celebration poster, some cast and a brief premise along with the original poster and trailer. It’s time for you to be afraid to go in the water….Again.

The Plot: When a massive killer shark unleashes chaos on a beach community off Long Island, it’s up to the local police chief, a marine biologist, and an old seafarer to hunt the beast down.
The Cast and Characters:
Roy Scheider as Chief Martin Brody
Robert Shaw as Quint
Richard Dreyfuss as Matt Hooper
Lorraine Gary as Ellen Brody
Murray Hamilton Mayor as Larry Vaughn
Carl Gottlieb as Meadows
Jeffrey Kramer as Deputy Leonard Hendricks
Susan Backlinie as Chrissie Watkins
Lee Fierro as Mrs. Kintner
Peter Benchley as Interviewer
Bruce as The Shark
I found the original release trailer on the Rotten Tomatoes Channel and have embedded it down below for your enjoyment. I also managed to find the original theatrical release poster and couldn’t resist adding that to this narrative.
