The Press Release:
Today, acclaimed Grammy and Juno-award winning artist Sarah McLachlan announced The Fumbling Towards Ecstasy 30th Anniversary Tour, live across North America next summer. Produced by Live Nation, the 30-date run kicks off on Saturday, May 25 in Seattle with back-to-back shows at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery before making stops in Palm Springs, Salt Lake City, Kansas City, Chicago, Toronto, Laval, Boston, Nashville and more ahead of wrapping up on Saturday, July 6 in Sugar Land at Smart Financial Centre. Very special guest Feist will join on all dates across the tour other than Toronto, which will feature Allison Russell as support.

“I think it’s interesting as an artist or as a human for that matter, to be able to go back and look at a postcard of a time in your life and reflect on it,” said Sarah McLachlan. “I think this tour is going to be a real walk down memory lane for me, and I’m hoping that my audience, many of whom have been with me for 30 years, will also be able to go back in time with me.”

The Facebook Post:
it’s that time of year. we’re playing in new york again, but it’s a little different this time. It’s the tri boro tour.

last year we played 20 shows at brooklyn steel, which, while fun, nearly killed us all (as soon as we were done i immediately got sick for 2 weeks). we also kind of couldn’t remember the first, say, 14 shows because we were just grinding and holding on for dear life with only one day off in a row ever, trying not to blow out voices, knees, backs, what have you. none of us even realized we’d been in this tense fog until, when we got to the last few nights, everyone was suddenly able to actually let go, knowing we could kind of recover once we were done. on those last few shows, we opened up, added songs to the set, screamed our stupid heads off, and as a result, each show felt quite distinct from one another. once we realized how much more present we were able to be with a little space, it felt like, going forward, we should do whatever it took to feel that way every night—not just as we closed in on the finish line. so, this time, it’s 12 shows, in three chunks with some healing time between each group of four. this doesn’t radically change how many overall available tickets by very much, because the other thing we’re doing is moving around a bit, and the other 2 venues, terminal 5 and the knockdown center, are just enough bigger than brooklyn steel to make it make sense. i mean, nothing is big, just a bit bigger.

Dear Electric Zoo Family,
It is with a broken heart that we deeply regret to inform you that, despite our tireless efforts and round-the-clock commitment, we have made the painful decision to cancel the first day of Electric Zoo.

This year has presented unparalleled challenges for everyone. The global supply chain disruptions have impacted industries worldwide, and, sadly, our beloved festival has not been immune. These unexpected delays have prevented us from completing the construction of the main stage in time for Day 1.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: Sorry to help share along the sad news to anyone in the readership who attends this event but since its always a popular calendar entry for “The Chronicles” I figured that I should share along the press release that I got when I inquired about an event for this year. I’ve never actually attended this one since Queens can be such a hike for me, but I do love some spicy eats and maybe a visit is in my future for the next time around. That’s all I have on this one. I will make mention that there is very likely this kind of cuisine at the Queens Night Market which has begun on the weekends over in Flushing Meadows Corona Park if you feel like checking that out. It sounds interesting for me as well, but is a really long ride via the MTA from my neck of the woods. Thanks for reading, please stay safe out there.
