Yesterday, I brought “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” to a brand-new convention at the Javits Center and I’m speaking about the Travel & Adventure Show. This would be the first time that the special event was happening here at the Javits and since I had evening and weekend work I could only come during the early hours on the Friday (yesterday).

Upon arrival, I was sad to learn that the bulk of the convention would be happening on the Saturday and Sunday and this Friday opening was more for the professionals involved to do their networking and exchange ideas in a few break out sessions and talks. Tomorrow, this Travel Theater will be jam packed.

This cool signage was out in the main lobby. The Travel & Adventure Show was being held on the left side of the Javits Center while the New York Boat Show was on the right side. I had done that one a couple of days ago before my shift start.

With many of the exhibitors off doing other things before the public time, there was very few people for me to talk to but I decided to share some of the booths for you to know who was there. I figured that it was better than nothing.

There was a sizable pavilion for New York which was nice to see. I so seldom get out of the actual city to explore and so few of my friends circle travel or are with partners that they do this stuff with. I guess if I choose to brave this stuff it will be as a solo artist. Might be fun but right now working it paramount for me but let’s continue along.

This charming lass was repping the Royal Caribbean cruises and some destinations. I was happy to finally meet someone here that wasn’t another media and we had a nice chat.

These pens really bring a smile to ones face.

I like the look of this Norwegian Cruise Line craft. Seems relaxing and that is something that I can use. Should any of our readers need a plus one for such things just hit us up on one of the social media channels ;p

One of the companies exhibiting is behind any of the musicals that happen on assorted cruise lines. A Donna Summer musical might be fun. I’m actually working at the theater where the Tina Turner musical is happening. It’s great.

The kind folks from Thailand were here and I was happy to learn a little about their offerings. They were handing out all sorts of literature about the country and vacation packages. I think I’d go there as some friends I’ve made over the years originate from there.

The folks from Korea were also beginning to set up so they paused for a photo for me. This young lady is wisely masked as we are not in the clear yet IMHO.

If you watched NY1, you might remember the face of Valerie D’Elia and her “Travel with Val” segments. It was so nice to meet her. I am a regular viewer of the NY1 Channel because its regular news and nothing over the top.

Since a number of my friends always chide me about my so rarely being in my coverage pieces I’ve decided to share a couple of the candid photos that were taken during my walkaround. First up is that charming rep from Coco Cay and I.

Then I couldn’t resist getting a moment with Valeria D’Elia, or as she is most known as “Travel with Val”. I didn’t get to talk to her for too long but it was still nice to meet someone that I was regularly seeing on the television.

As I was wrapping up my time at the show I was hearing that they were doing a little cocktail reception but I couldn’t stick aroud for that since my shift started at 6PM. I don’t drink anymore so such things are wasted on me anyway. This should be a fun time for those who will be attending today and tomorrow. Unfortunately my work schedule will find me busy until well past its ending. If you are going I hope that you learn something about a place that you wish to visit.
