While I know that I sometimes refer PiercingKen readers to the PiercingMetal Site and Blog depending upon the situation, this is the first time that I have done a related post of its own but this one is very special to me. Today is the 40th Anniversary of the band KISS. Well, technically the first time that they ever appeared live in public under this name so I guess when it all comes down to it this is the real anniversary of the band. They’re my favorite band of them all and I wanted to give them a little toast over on my side site as well.
The photograph above comes from the restaurant Vynl in NYC who had the Todd McFarlane series of action figures on their wall and I felt that this was the perfect time to use the shot. So anyway, even though the original lineup is no longer what KISS is composed of, I wish a hearty congratulations to Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss for a job well done and for inspiring many levels of creativity in millions of fans. Hello Readers and welcome to 2013!!! I wish you and all of your loved ones a very Happy New Year. Let’s make it an awesome one alright? Some of us might look back on 2012 and find it easy to mark out its disappointments now that its over but honestly, this is nothing new. It happened to 2011, to 2010 and well, you get the picture. It will likely happen shortly after we close the book on this brand new 2013 but despite that kind of stuff, we are here and its time to be the best person that we can possibly be.
I wanted to thank you all for joining me on this little side space of the web that I keep and I hope that we shall have some incredible adventures this New Year 2013. Looking back on our own 2012 it was certainly a productive one for this site and that only gives me encouragement for what is to come next. Stay tuned and Happy New Year once again. It’s been a very Finnish week for us in terms of both blogs because I only recently covered the photo exhibit at Ivana Helsinki NYC Concept Shop and later on tonight I celebrate the country’s big day by checking out Sonata Arctica and tomorrow I return to the Helsinki shop to see what their “Northern Oddities” display is all about. It should be fun and yes you can count on blogs and stories and images from them all. Stay tuned for that stuff and once again, Happy Independence Day to Finland. It’s their 95th you know….

Do you remember the movie, then Off-Broadway play and eventual movie once again called “The Little Shop Of Horrors”? You don’t!!!!! Crap. Well, okay to sum it up it’s a love story about an alien plant with a ravenous craving for blood and its hapless owner/minion to its insidious plans. There you go. Done. Look it up if you need some additional information, it was a fun film and it’s a musical by the way (well, at least the latter two instances of it were). I admit that I never saw the original film by Roger Corman. So with that being said while on some wanderings with our fellow blogger buddy The Beehivehairdresser, I chanced upon a very strange looking plant and one that totally seemed aimed at us all with sinister intent. Take a look and tell me if you disagree.
