Announcing The Winners Of The 2019 Bit Awards

It was only a few short weeks ago when I shared the nominees for this years “Bit Awards” and if you missed that announcement you might want to click HERE to be up to speed. Just the other day the winners were announced and I’m sharing the press release and the names of those who took home the prizes down below. Since this alert didn’t remind the fans about the nominees you should definitely look at the other post to see who didn’t win in case some of your favorites are among them. Let’s go.

The Press Release:
The 3rd Annual Bit Awards presented by Playcrafting was a night to remember! On Friday, February 1st, hundreds of game developers and enthusiasts from across the country convened at Parsons The New School of Design in New York to see who would bring home the hardware and honor those who have moved the gaming community forward at the Big Apple’s most diverse and interactive celebration of rising game developers.

Our host, actress and producer Carolina Ravassa, kicked off the celebration by reminding the audience of the transformative power of games, and welcomed some of the biggest names in gaming, such as The Polygon Show hosts Chelsea Stark, Ashley Oh, Simone de Rochefort and Allegra Frank, massive streamer swiftor, Francesco Antolini and Omar Shakir from Avalanche Sweden’s NYC studio, as they introduced this year’s Bit Awards winners and honorees.

2019 Grammy Awards Full Winners Rundown

grammy awards logo

The Recording Industry calls this the “Biggest Night In Music” for the year and to fans of some genres out there this is probably true. As a tried and true supporter of Metal and Rock, this is generally a disappointment but that is a matter discussed over on the PiercingMetal.com website and not here on ”The Chronicles” since the audience is a lot more varied. The Grammy’s were given out over the course of the last few hours and I’ve been researching and typing to get them all to you shortly after the broadcast. I didn’t watch more than fifteen minutes of it since “The Walking Dead” was on and that’s more important to me. Also, the disrespect of Rock and Metal with their awards being announced and given out before the broadcast even aired found me discussing the matter on the Metal site on THIS POST so do please check that out if you are so inclined. This list is long so you’re going to want to get comfortable. Here we go.

“I Like It” — Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin
“The Joke” — Brandi Carlile
WINNER: “This Is America” — Childish Gambino
“God’s Plan” — Drake

“All the Stars” — Kendrick Lamar and SZA

Getting My NY Blood Center Donation Game On :)

new york blood center logo

Just this past Wednesday, I saw that the New York Blood Center truck was doing their regular drive at the Greenhouse Cafe in my neighborhood of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and since I had met the proper time between donations, I felt that I should list myself to get on the bus for them to take another pint of life saving blood. The donation process doesn’t bother me at all (outside of the lengthy Q&A on the form) and with that being the case I try to do this whenever I can. The photos below are from before, during and after and were sent up to our Official Instagram. Take a look.

I mentioned that the process doesn’t bother me and believe me I am not lying to you. You only feel a pinch during the setup and it will take between five and ten minutes to complete the donation of a pint of blood. Depending on the need they usually fill a few vials first which is done when they are seeking platelets and such. You should have something in your stomach first of course and I had a bowl of Cap’n Crunch and a couple of cups of coffee before I did this. They advise against doing this on an empty stomach and after you are done you get your choice of assorted juices or water and chips, cookies or pretzels. When its all said and done the blood goes to help save someones life so its a good idea to donate if you think that you can do it. Remember you get cool bragging rights items and a neato card like I have. There is also an online profile system which I still need to set myself up on but I will do it to find out just how many I have donated by this point. Thanks for listening.

This Just In: Ultraviolet Is Closing In July 2019

I guess that I’ve been redeeming digital codes for the DVD’s and Blu-rays that I’ve been purchasing for a few years now and one of the means of getting these codes to a device of choice, I used the Ultraviolet service. Earlier today, this news hit my mailbox and I am sharing it with you for good measure.
