The Javits Center was a busy place recently with the AKC “Meet The Breeds” taking over the downstairs section while the New York Boat Show was up top on the right side of the expo floor and last but certainly not least – The Travel & Adventure Show had returned for their fourth annual happening. My last time taking a look around this one was in 2023 but that was as a guest of an exhibitor I knew. This time around I was hoping to do the exploring with a more professional vibe.
Generally speaking, I set up my own accesses to these events well in advance but this time around I was so consumed with life in general and being media for the other two happenings that I wasn’t sure I would even be able to set aside some exploring time, but when I had a breather I walked over to the press office to express interest in a brief walkthrough.
After accommodating my request it was onto the floor I trekked. They have a cool looking media badge so I was compelled to share its visual with you. I guess this is the Grand Canyon but can’t be sure since its not a place I’ve seen in person myself. The badge reveals are often part of my YouTube Arrival videos which seem to be a popular thing to do nowadays so I follow suit.
I slipped downstairs for a moment and saw some dancers who were in attendance at the show practicing their routines. They had costumes for the performance but down here they didn’t need that on. Lovely wardrobe.
Sadly I had just missed these young ladies from I believe India, but they wanted to be in my photos so how could I say no.
This is the Global Beats Stage and it was a very busy place throughout the event. I didn’t stay here long as I was on a limited window and had quite a few aisles to explore.
Upon arrival I learned that some associates from Japan were working at a couple of the booths at the show so I had to make sure to spend some time with them. This is a mascot known as Myaku-Myaku. It was an awesome and very fun mascot. This was quite the highlight for any children that were in attendance at the show.
My friends were working with the Japanese chindon group “Bentenya” and two of their members were in attendance. As they were right near Myaku-Myaku, I had them pose together. Fun stuff right?
Here are some shots from the Tokyo booth with Bentenya and their representative from Mar Creation, our good friend Kono san. Oh and in case you’re interested, they all call me “Ken san”. I know this is not the proper way to use that title but I’ve grown to like it over the years so it remains.
Here’s a visual of the main lecture section and as you can see it was jam packed. The person you can see speaking way, way down on the stage is Pauline Frommer, a noted travel expert. After the talk she did a signing and I was able to snap a photo of her before moving on. Thanks Pauline 🙂
I’ll wrap this part of the adventure up with more booths that we swung through. Remember these are a lot of representatives looking to book you on assorted vacations and I was not getting in the way of those chats with potential customers. My colleague and I had to get back to the Boat Show to finalize some other content. These charming ladies were from the Korea booth.

Based on the amount of images that I snapped, I am finished with my Day One findings and thoughts and now will begin to run the Day Two findings. For the Sunday, I found myself starting out here and then would do final clean up at the other two events that I mentioned later on in the day. Here are some more dancers and the Global Beats Stage.
Right near that stage was a New York pavilion and this time around it was very focused on LGBTQ+. They had a great sign to do a photo op and cool buttons. I took a batch of those to give to friends at the Flame Con and the other two affairs I was on point for.

These folks are from “Safarini” It sounded interesting.
Many of the exhibitors had maps open on their tables to show people where exactly they would be going. I imagine that is helpful.
The Chinese New Year was coming up soon and this will be the year of the snake. If you wish to impress any of your Chinese friends you can say either “Gung Hay Fat Choy” which is Cantonese or “Gong Xi Fa Cai” which is Mandarin. I learned the first one from a store owner when I was a youth. He was very good to the kids and fondly remembered still.
Here’s a couple of visuals from the Encore Group. They are responsible for performances on cruises but I was not able to speak to one of their representatives. I will try another visit later since I have an affinity for Broadway things. Not only do I attend the BroadwayCon, but I used to work at assorted theaters during the pandemic.

This table was also doing a giveaway of this backpack which I am told is something that is quite expensive. I don’t camp or hike so don’t have a need for things like this. I do have a few backpacks for my media adventuring but this is different. I hope whoever won this gets to put some proper use into it.
