Pencil It In With PiercingMetal.com :)

Hi there readers, this is just a quick PSA about my PiercingMetal.com website. The other day I revamped the sites long-standing web calendar and I wanted you all to know about it. I discuss it all in a post on my PiercingMetal.com site and you can find that narrative by clicking the calendar graphic below. In a nutshell, the old calendar that you see below has been transformed into something even bigger and better. I hope you like it and since this is a PM.com item, I have disabled comments on this traffic sign.

PiercingMetal Goes To Special Edition NYC 2015

Hey there my friends, and welcome back to another one of these redirecting posts that you will occasionally find on the website. With this one I’m letting you know that a few short days ago I attended the 2015 Edition of Special Edition NYC which was held at Pier 94 in the Big Apple. This convention is smaller in scale than that of the massive NY Comic Con that has been reported on by my PiercingMetal outlet for the past few years but its presented by the same folks so I like to attend if possible to do so. It would be my first time hitting Pier 94 for anything so with proper Press Credentials in hand I attended both days and presented the coverage to our readers over a handful of posts that you can enjoy by clicking the logo graphic below. Take a look at it when you have time and know that I hope you enjoy it.

Thoughts and Thanks On Reaching “The Big 50”

According to the image below, it was at 5:18PM on May 29th 1965 in Elmhurst, Queens NY at St. John’s Hospital when I made my first appearance. Now while I have been told very often about my memory being astounding and detailed about the most minute of things, there is not much that I can tell you about that particular day itself. Suffice it to say, I was here and very likely quite happy about that.

What I can tell you is that the road to this milestone of “The Big Five Oh” has been both an interesting one and for the most part a very fun one and that is the reason that I am posting this new narrative here on the personal blog site as opposed to only letting it live on Facebook and being confined to my immediate circle of friends and colleagues. To those who know me personally, this is no surprise since I have found quite a bit of fault in Facebook as being peoples only means of doing their daily agenda items but I don’t quite hate on it as much when I see several hundred wall posts from people wishing me a “Happy Birthday”. There were a few advance wishes and a batch of day plus afters but it was still nice to see them chiming in. Right now I am in the middle of thanking everyone who made that a point of their Facebook time with the idea if they could take a moment then so can I. If you did that and are still waiting don’t worry its coming. Imagine writing that many thank you cards…

The photo you see above was taken right after some coffee at our nearby Duane Reade since they had the necessary candle prop I wanted and since I was in a KISS shirt at the time. I had to make sure that I did something for my actual birthday which it was at the time. Closing up I will add another few bunches of thanks and those go to my ever awesome parents, my dear friends who span the close by regions, the faraway ones and the net and to any of you who find some enjoyment in my creative mediums on PiercingMetal and right here with PiercingKen. You all have helped make these past 18,250 days pretty darn cool. Now its onto the next chapter and if you want some “old guy wisdom” based on the whole thought about experience coming with age I just say “live your life to the best of your ability and care for the important ones around you”. It’s not always easy but worth a try. I do what I can when possible and there you go. Ciao.

The PiercingKen Blog Is Officially Five Years Old!

It was five years ago today that I decided to temporarily take off the leather gloves and Heavy Metal bling to put together some posts that would showcase another side of my photographic and journalistic adventures. Yes my friends, today is the fifth anniversary of the PiercingKen.com blog and I can hardly believe it.

It’s sure been a blast for me to have this extension for the creative energies and to bring them to your computer screens and mobile devices for this long a time. Statistically speaking its doing pretty good as a site of this kind and has had a few hundred thousand visitors and served up about a million page views to date. Okay, so it does have some serious catching up to do against my PiercingMetal.com site but that’s alright. With the number of websites currently online at this point in history I am grateful for any time that you spend here.

I should stress that I’ve been using the official social networks for the site quite a bit so please come check us out on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram because each of them expands upon the stuff you are seeing here on the site. I’ll close out now with a word of “Thanks” and “Stay Tuned” for the next stuff.
