CBS Television Presents: “The Equalizer” Official Trailer

It would seem that CBS Television is bringing back one of their successful properties with a brand-new take on “The Equalizer”. The show was quite popular back in the mid-eighties and starred Patrick Woodward in the role of “The Equalizer”. In 2021 the task falls to Queen Latifa and the first trailer for the show is below. I’ve also included the series premise and casting. Sadly there was no artwork to showcase at the time of the trailer reveal. Enjoy.

The Premise: The series chronicles the life of Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman and single mother to teenage daughter Delilah, with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn, acting as a guardian angel and a defender for those who cannot defend themselves while pursuing her own redemption.

The Cast/Characters:
Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall, aka “The Equalizer,”
Chris Noth as William Bishop
Tory Kittles as Marcus Dante
Lorraine Toussaint as Frieda “Aunt Fry” Lascombe
Liza Lapira as Melody Chu
Adam Goldberg as Harry Keshegian

Piercing Ken Thoughts: As someone who was a casual fan of the original series, and one that also never got around to seeing two films with Denzel Washington, I am oddly curious about this one. I love a good action show and seeing the bad people in life get what’s coming to them just seems to be something that I like these days. This trailer shows that the series has some potential and that’s all I have to say on it. What do you readers think about it? Is this something that you will be programming into your DVR? I’m still on the fence but leaning towards yes since a few shows that I enjoy are being cancelled this season. Chime in down below and I will see you next time around.
