The Press Release:
The founders of High River Sauces have announced that their always highly-anticipated NYC Hot Sauce Expo will be returning for an 8th time this September at the Brooklyn Expo Center in Greenpoint. Originally scheduled for April, the festival has been moved to September for the safety of all guests. It will feature all of the staples that have attracted attendees by the thousands in previous years – such as the Booze & Infuse Cocktail Competition and annual Hot Sauce Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony – will be returning alongside the Insane Eating Challenges that take place on the Stage of DOOM (full schedule below) and the Chihuahua Beauty Contest. This year, the 2020 NYC Hot Sauce Expo will offer attendees the opportunity to sample 50 of the world’s finest purveyors of hot sauce, as well as, top-notch craft beers, spicy cocktails and a myriad of food options such as BBQ and tacos for carnivores, vegans and everyone in between.

In addition to the traditions that make this such a special event, this year’s expo will also feature a few once-in-a-lifetime experiences for Hot Sauce enthusiasts. At 4:30 PM on Sunday the 13th, Puckerbutt Pepper Company will be presenting the Guinness Book of Records Reaper Eating Challenge, in which brave participants will be competing for a grand prize of $1,000. High River Sauces will also unveil their latest endeavor – the initial beer offering from their upcoming High River Brewing Company, the Four 4 Four.

A limited amount of general admission and Super Awesome VIP tickets are still available and can be purchased here.

High River Sauces was formed in 2011 when music industry vet, Steve Seabury, created his first sauce for the Metal Alliance Tour. Since the sale of the first bottle in Dallas, TX in March of 2011, Seabury has created a globally-respected range of hot sauces that are as diverse as they are spicy. High River Sauces takes pride in providing chile-enthusiasts and hot sauce fanatics with the ultimate experience in flavorful, all-natural ingredients. Their customers mean the world to High River, and the company promises an unmatched level of experience and a freshness guarantee in every bottle.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: I am glad to find this event being rescheduled as opposed to being cancelled as some of the other happenings that I find myself involved in for “The Chronicles” and PiercingMetal did not fare too well as a result of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Now there are some who feel that announcements like this are coming too soon but let’s be honest here, they have to at least try in the hope that our lives will be returned to as normal a state as possible. I am looking forward to this one when September rolls around and hope that I will see many of the friends that I’ve made here once again. I’ve attended this particular expo since the beginning and if you’d like to scroll through history with me just click HERE. Let me know what you think about this news my friends and may this announcement find you being safe in this uncertain time. See you next go round.
