Happy NY Marathon 2013 Day (11/3/2013)

Today is one of those day’s where it is actually okay to let the world pass you by and by that I mean the runners who come from all over the world to participate in the annual NYC Marathon. Of course if you are one of those who are running, then you can watch the world as you pass it by. It was great to have this event back again because it was cancelled as result of Superstorm Sandy last year and while it pissed off a lot of people, I do think it was for the best.

The marathon comes over the Verrazano Bridge and runs right passed my block so I could not resist heading to my corner and snag a couple of images and a little video right up close and personal. I hope you like it and maybe even see someone you know running by.

The woman next to me was from France so you hear her yelling “Go France” a lot during my little film. I looked for some of the Scandinavian countries while I watched but I admit it was a little chilly and I was not properly dressed to remain in the wind. I would enjoy watching the winners from the comfort of my Blog Command HQ.

30 Rooms: The Art Of Adam Carnes

A few months ago I was invited to an art presentation that was called “30 Rooms” and this was being held in an office building on what appeared to be an open floor for the Regus Business Center company. Organized and sponsored by Six Summit Gallery, the event would present thirty different artists in thirty different rooms. While I did not manage to see every single room, I did get to a bunch that I really enjoyed and shall be presenting each of those artists in their own posting to allow for better focused attention. Here is Adam Carnes:

PiercingKen Goes To The PDN Photoplus Expo 2013

It was once again time to pay a visit to the PDN Photoplus Expo which is held at the Javits Center every year around this time. I always try to attend this to see what is coming out that is within my budget and to support those friends who I sometimes run into while wandering the aisles.

I once again visited the Expo with my stalwart companion in media, “Skeleton Pete” Parrella and while he was examining things with a little more scrutiny, I was thinking that this time around I would focus on the faces around me. I already had a new camera so would not be investigating that but of course its cool to see what lenses might make my PiercingMetal adventures a little easier. The presentation that you will see here is mostly photos only and since there were a lot of cool models doing their thing I made sure to snap away at them. Hey they are seeking fame and fortunes as well so let’s broadcast them if possible. Enjoy.
