AWA Studios, the creator-first company where a diverse group of the most outstanding artists, writers, and artisans do their best work and retain ownership of their ideas, has come together with Tribeca again this year to create the imagery for the Tribeca Festival Awards that celebrate the top achievements in the Games, and Immersive, Audio Storytelling categories, as well as the Tribeca X winners. AWA has already created 36 original titles, 175 episodes and 452 characters and has numerous Film & TV projects under development with such partners as Warner Bros., Discovery, and Fremantle.

Tribeca Festival Announces 2022 Features and Shorts Lineup

The 2022 Tribeca Festival™ today announced its lineup of feature and short narrative, documentary, and animated films. This year’s festival takes place from June 8-19 and spotlights everything from breakout independent shorts to renowned global features.

The features program spans ten categories – narrative competitions, topical documentaries, anticipated new films – and showcases 111 feature films and 16 online premieres from 151 filmmakers across 40 countries. The lineup includes 88 world premieres, 2 international premieres, 7 North American premieres, 2 U.S. premieres, and 11 New York premieres. There are 32 directors returning to Tribeca with their latest projects, and 50 first-time directors. More than 64% (81) of the feature films are directed by female, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ filmmakers — 46% (58) female directors, 34% (43) BIPOC directors, 8% (10) LGBTQ+ directors.

The New York Japan Cinefest Reveals 10th Anniversary Program

A film festival that introduces Japanese-themed short films, New York Japan CineFest, is having its 10th anniversary this year from November 17th to November 21st online only. Hosted by Mar Creations with the partners, CYBER New York, Japan Information and Culture Center (Embassy of Japan in Washington D.C.), Short Short Film Festival, Sapporo International Short Film Festival, Aichi International Women’s Film Festival, and Kadoma International Film Festival.

We decided to go online for our screening again this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and we also are celebrating our 10th anniversary with 14 new short films and 6 of the best short films from the past events between 2012 to 2020 out of 120 films. We have films from the Philippines, Canada, Germany, Spain, the United States, and Japan.

Tribeca Festival Announces Tribeca Talks And Anniversary Reunion Lineups

The Tribeca Festival, presented by AT&T, today announced its lineup of Talks and Reunion Screenings with the stars and directors from iconic films, and conversations with the driving forces behind film, television, music, business and politics. These once-in-a-lifetime conversations will be part of the 20th Anniversary Festival celebration taking place city-wide June 9-20, the first major film festival to host in person events.

Tribeca Talks: Storytellers celebrates groundbreaking creators working across multiple mediums. This year’s multi-talented group includes: Mike Jackson and John Legend of Get Lifted Film Company; Oscar-nominated actor and director Bradley Cooper in conversation with Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro; comedian and actress Amy Schumer in conversation with Emily Ratajkowski; screenwriter Scott Z. Burns in conversation with Emmy Award-winning actor Matthew Rhys; Shira Haas, the breakout star of Orthodox and Tribeca Festival Best Actress-winner for ASIA with actress and comedian, Ali Wentworth; and Debbie Harry, Clem Burke and Chris Stein of the legendary punk band Blondie.
