The Press Release:
After an extensive evaluation, the Specialty Food Association (SFA) is pleased to announce that our Summer Fancy Food Show will move to September 27-29, 2021 and will still be held at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City.

After surveying buyers and consulting with SFA members, New York City and State officials, the Javits Center, and health experts to gauge the safety and viability of moving forward with a live event, we have determined that a modified, late third-quarter Fancy Food Show has the best chance of success in a safe environment.

Considering the world we are now living in, I guess it was pretty much just a matter of time before we learned that this years Specialty Food Association “Summer Fancy Food Show” was going to be cancelled. Since the event center has been transformed into a makeshift hospital to help with Covid-19 cases, its not really the best scenario for a food based event. Below you can find their official statement.

The Press Release:
The Specialty Food Association’s (SFA) 66th annual Summer Fancy Food Show scheduled for June 28-30 at the Jacob Javits Center in New York will not take place as planned due to events outside SFA’s control – notably the national and global response to the COVID-19 pandemic, including travel restrictions, and the Javits Center’s critical service in fighting the pandemic that impacts the facility’s availability.
“As the leader in the future of food movement, our responsibility is to serve our members through good times and bad,” said SFA President Phil Kafarakis. “Our legacy is one of connecting the global specialty food industry – makers, buyers and distributors – and we’re assessing ways to create an engaging environment for that, outside of the Fancy Food Show.”

Hello again my friends and let me continue with where we left off with yesterday’s installment. We are now exploring the third and final day of the Specialty Food Association’s “Summer Fancy Food Show” and as previously mentioned this is my own third year attending. I love this show and learning about more delicious treats just makes me happy. It’s a great day to be inside the Javits Center since its so brutally hot out there. I tell you that its as hot as the South were I was visiting last week so being in the air conditioning walking the aisles taking notes and tasting samples is my kind of day. As with my earlier chapter (HERE), I will chime in as needed as the narrative plays along. Company links will live at the close.

Thought we’ve already established that we among the working press for the event, I always love to showcase the credentials which are being protected by our trust Thinktank Photo credentials holder. It’s safe to show this off since I hid my bar code and now no shenanigans can happen.
