Greetings my friends and welcome once again to the last day of the year and one of my very favorite posts to do at this time. For a number of years, “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” has been lining out the complete episode rundown of “The Honeymooners” marathon that will be broadcast starting tomorrow on New Year’s Day at 12:30AM on WPIX Channel 11. If you’ve followed along with the website over the last few years you already know that this has become a bit of a tradition for me to do. I began running this in 2020 and at that time it actually began before the ball dropped but in the most recent years it has started after the network finished its own end of year celebration. As a comedy series, “The Honeymooners” has withstood the tests of time and still remains as funny as it ever was. Historically speaking the network began doing this sort of thing in 1996 and my family and I would always enjoy as much of it as we could watch on the holidays at the actual broadcast times while others opted to record on VHS Tape. You in the younger generation might not recall that this was the only method of catching shows that aired while you were asleep. Once again I used a pair of resources to cull this scheduling and that’s the Official PIX website AND the Spectrum Channel Guide and I was happy to find that they were totally in sync. The marathon will first run from 12:20AM to 4AM and then pause for local news programming. I’m still unsure why we need three hours of local news at that hour as opposed to one but I am not in the producer’s chair here. Trust me when I say that absolutely no one is interested in the local news over seeing additional episodes of “The Honeymooners”. While I’ve never attempted a live viewing from beginning to end I can say with some level of certainty that these three news hours would be when I chose to power nap before waking up to tackle more of the marathon. Since I always fall asleep around the time this begins I am relying on my DVR to enjoy this years go round.

Greetings friends and welcome to another special post with a dual purpose. I’m sending out a slightly early “Happy Thanksgiving” wish to you and your loved ones and also to share that PIX11 has just announced that a mini-marathon of episodes of “The Honeymooners” will once again be happening on Thanksgiving Day between the hours of from 11AM-3PM. According to the listings these episodes will be broadcast between showings of the holiday Laurel and Hardy classic “March of The Wooden Soldiers”. The first showing of that film will be in black and white while the one afterwards will be in color. I love sharing rundowns like this one because its such a classic show and it gets me prepped for the longer marathon which runs every New Year’s Eve. While I’ve been doing that one for awhile this is only the second time that I’ve shared about the Thanksgiving Day one and by doing it a day or so in advance you have time to program your DVR or maybe even VHS player if you still happen to have one that works and a tape. These eight episodes are good ones but I really can’t find a single episode from the “Classic 39” that doesn’t make me laugh out loud. Are any of your own favorites listed in this rundown? If so do please chime in later on. Since these episodes are beginning while a lot of the feast preparation is still going on, it might be wise to pull that small portable set out of the closet. Here’s the rundown of episodes.

Greetings my friends and welcome again to what will pretty much amount to being the final post for this calendar year 2024 here on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken”. If you’ve followed along with the website over the last few years and around this particular time, you know that we are here to talk about “The Honeymooners” because its time for the complete rundown of episodes that will be shown on PIX11 for their annual marathon. I’ve been doing this since 2020 and since its a longtime favorite show that has withstood the tests of time I’ve made this a bit of a year-end tradition. I remember the network doing this for many years even before we were publishing and a quick Google Search found that this has been done since 1996. I initially did this during the first year of the pandemic to help inspire people to remain inside but since so many in my circle aren’t doing too much and instead do mellow hangs I’ve kept it going. Now before I list the rundown, let me point out that the information on it was a little spotty and didn’t match up 100%. I used two resources to cull the data together and on the PIX11 website, the marathon shows as pausing from 4AM to 7AM to show local news and programming. On the other resource, the Spectrum TV Channel Guide, shows the marathon pausing from 4AM to 8AM for the same aforementioned programming. Then I saw a commercial on Channel 11 saying that there were “27” episodes to watch so I suggest just programming the whole time. Down below I’ve listed what can be found on the website listings. The other difference is that this year the marathon begins at 12:30AM on New Year’s Day as opposed to being the final hour of programming on the Channel before the New Year begins. We are also following Eastern Standard Time. If you’re in New York City like we are that means we are losing some five and a half possible marathon hours. IMHO, no one is that interested in regional and world news after partying and would likely rather spend the time with the Kramdens and the Nortons. Though I appreciate the fact that PIX11 does this marathon every year, they would serve their audience best by getting all the main important news into one broadcast for one hours time and leave the rest to the marathon. After the year that 2024 was, I would rather hear less about the things that are wrong since my regular news reminds me of that on a daily basis. The rundown is presented down below in full and please remember where it was sourced from if there should be any discrepancies. If anything is different when the broadcast happens do NOT yell at me in the comments and please instead send any gripes to the network directly via their social media profiles or website contact information. I think social media would work best in this case scenario and now onto the rundown.
