PiercingMetal’s Tumblr Turned 11 Today!

Hello my friends and ardent readers of “The Chronicles” of Piercing Ken; It’s once again time for me to take a moment out of your day to discuss some of the social networking stuff that is happening over on the PiercingMetal.com side of the fence. I’ve been forced to do this based on the overall amount of content that I am posting over there as opposed to here to be sure that you will see it and not find the updates lost in the shuffle. Truth be told, “The Chronicles” has been my dual-branded editorial soapbox for some time now and that’s fine by me since we not only end up sharing some inside news but we also up the amount of content here. That being said, this post is to let you know that PiercingMetal.com has been using its Tumblr account for “11” years now and that’s pretty cool. Readers of PiercingMetal.com might recall that it was this past April that the website celebrated its fifteenth year of online service (discussed HERE).

PiercingMetal’s Tumblr Achieves “4000 Posts”

Hey there readers of “The Chronicles”, I’m pausing the regularly scheduled postings to once again laud an accomplishment that was achieved by one of our most used social networks. I’m talking about none other than the Official Tumblr of PiercingMetal.com which has achieved some 4,000 posts as of yesterday. Pretty cool right? I think so. More about this after the graphic.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: Whew! So many posts right? I’d like to think so as I am a bit of a numbers guy and while the use of Tumblr is mostly as a feed to the content over on PIercingMetal.com and sometimes to the stuff that I am posting here on “The Chronicles”; the achievement of 4K posts show we have never given up on using it. Last summer I had pointed out that Tumblr was purchased by the folks over at Automattic and they also own WordPress so they might end up doing something bigger with it. You can learn more about that happening by clicking HERE. The bottom line is that I will continue to keep on sharing my posts over on Tumblr and our 11th year of usage is around the corner at this point. Despite the pandemic, I’ve tried to keep myself posting busy and while some of my fellow website scribes are sitting around idle, I am closing in on having made something like “500” posts between the two websites at the time that you are reading this update. I even recently launched a Blogspot to help me learn more of their backend workings for future technical assistance use. That Blogger account is also a “feed” of sorts between both of my websites but it doesn’t look at nice as Tumblr does. Check that our by clicking HERE and maybe even follow if you have a Google account. Maybe I will change this around too but right now I’ve other things to focus on. PiercingMetal’s Tumblr Turned “10” Today

Hello again my dear friends and faithful followers of our lifestyle website “The Chronicles Of Piercing Ken”. It’s once again time for me to laud some social networking milestones with you and as I’ve done before this news relates to my PiercingMetal.com side of the fence. So you might be aware of the fact that the Metal and Pop Culture site had hit its fourteenth anniversary back in April (discussed HERE) and this little alert is to let you know that the Tumblr microblogging account that we use is now ten years old. I think that this is cool news and I’ll discuss a little more about it down below the image.

So before I continue I think that I should explain why I’d post about a PiercingMetal thing here on “The Chronicles” for those who don’t know how we work already. Some already know that each website that I do is the opposing side of the same creative coin. This year, the PiercingMetal website hit fourteen and then this site surpassed its ninth anniversary and at this point I work each of them together quite a bit and no one seems to mind. While each site has its own audience there is a lot of transfer of interest depending on where the reader is in their lives. I created an account on Tumblr to lock in the creative identity on that medium and since 2009 have been using it to place our content in front of you is you choose to follow us over there. It’s very bare bones but I was also making sure to alert you to some of the coolness that was happening over on “The Chronicles” as well. The interesting thing about still using this profile still is based on the news that came to light just last month. It seems as though the folks over at Automattic have purchased Tumblr from its previous owners at Verizon and if that name rings a bell its because they also own WordPress. I discussed that news HERE in case you’d like to read it and while a month later is too early to determine what the future holds for all of the Tumblr profiles, there is a pretty good chance that it gets to be an even better experience for those who use it and follow us. At last check we had a couple of hundred profiles following us so please know that there is always room for more. For me, the shares to it is an automatic checking of a box and I think there are more than 3.5K posts on the profile so that’s a lot of chances to send readers to our posts. With this big news I should probably share a lot more of both websites and our other social networks over there as well for good measure. If you aren’t following any of these links we ask that you please do so with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube. Hey there my readers of “The Chronicles”, I’m taking a moment out of the day to share some cool news with you all about my PiercingMetal.com side of the fence. You might already know that the website is now more than thirteen years old after celebrating its online anniversary this past April but did you know that the Tumblr microblogging account that we use is nine years old? Well it is and I’ll share more about this down below the photo.

Before you ask why we are talking about something dedicated to the Metal and Geek site here on “The Chronicles”, the newbies to our offerings should know that this kind of thing is par for the course over here. Not only do I like to serve up interesting content to you with this outlet, but I also like to bring you more into the creative process that is involved in being a web-based member of the press. When my brand started to build up a little steam it made sense to lock out the identity on other mediums. This is why we have a focused Twitter, Instagram and YouTube as well. Our Tumblr is pretty straightforward and only serves as a feed to the content found on the main website. The good thing is that it often picks up a site graphic and the tags which makes it easier to be found. When readers find something they like they need to click the link and go over to the main website so I am not losing traffic at all. At the time of this announcement there are about 3000 posts over there and that’s cool. At the end of the day it helps with website outreach and there are times when I will share notable things from “The Chronicles” there as well. Hitting “2000 Posts” With Tumblr; A Personal Record :)

Hey there readers, this is just a little sharing of some fun news that I received about one of the Social Networks that I use to better broadcast all this entertainment media stuff to you with. Apparently I’ve reached “2000” posts in the Tumblr account for PiercingMetal.com and if you are wondering why I am saying this here on PiercingKen as opposed to the other website, well there is a method to my madness 🙂

For the longest time I was using the PiercingMetal Tumblr account as a feeder of that websites posts and its Twitter account but over the last year I have integrated this lifestyle blog into it as well to allow me to showcase our adventures in the real world that get documented here. Also, since I am loving the Instagram medium for both sites, there are times when images will get broadcast on the Tumblr account as well. Those accounts are really two sides of the same creative coin so I hope you are checking them out once in awhile. It’s all 100% original stuff and not other peoples images or photos like some other websites like to do. Sadly I have to close this post up as there is a mountain of things to do on both of the mediums along with the mandatory social networking so let me say “thanks” if you are one of the folks that follows the account or at least reads it from time to time.
