YouTube Celebrates 15th Anniversary of First Uploaded Video

And now its time to celebrate something that isn’t of our own design at all. So historically speaking, today is the 15th Anniversary of the very first YouTube video being published. According to research they first branded this whole thing back in February of 2005 and I guess didn’t rush to get any kind of video up until April. Their launch of brand was actually only a few months before the launch of my own PiercingMetal website for those who might be curious. I dug around and learned that the very first clip was called “Me At The Zoo” and I’ve embedded it for you down below.

Now believe it or not, I’ve had a personal YouTube Channel since very early in the networks history but I have to admit that it was mainly for me to be able to watch and comment on the videos that I found to be the most interesting. That was around 2006 and then when it seemed necessary for my PiercingMetal website to have its own branded YouTube Channel, I created one for the outlet in 2008 as well. However, with all that being said I really didn’t know what kind of content I wanted to put up there and didn’t rush to get anything published until years after having the profiles. Eventually I would post a concert clip or two but I don’t think that this is a preferred upload by the overseers of YouTube in todays world. I launched the Piercing Ken site in 2010 and this is where my own use of YouTube messed up just a little bit. When I launched “The Chronicles” website I should have created its own Channel to mirror that of the PiercingMetal site but I didn’t because at first that website was never designed to be a professional voice around the scene. Since it wasn’t going to be that kind of thing I just didn’t feel it needed a Channel. The Channel became an editorial space for the lifestyle side of my adventures and instead of diving in to a Channel, I just posted videos to the personal space which was a big mistake. Perhaps it’s finally time to get the ball rolling properly and create a Channel for this brand and see about taking some of the videos from there and putting them where they should be. I am sure I will have time since most days are sitting watching the news right now. When that happens you will of course be made aware of it.

With the world being in a very chaotic place right now based on this virus, I’ve decided to occasionally use the platform here on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” to discuss some of the things we’ve been using and will likely ramp up the use of until the coast is clear for life to return to some kind of normal. While external activities appear to have grinded to a halt, the world still turns and there is news and updates to share with the readership. As far as the existing YouTube Channels, they will be linked down below and I hope that you will lend them some love with a subscribe and to watch and hopefully comment if you’ve some topical views to add to the mix. Doing that will help grow their reach which is never a bad thing. Now I know I only briefly touched upon the anniversary of their first posted video but you can learn more deep news about the network over on its Wikipedia Page which I also have linked down below. The idea about “The Chronicles” is to be a space where we share both news and how we employ several things in our media adventuring. Thanks for listening, please be careful out there. It’s a really tenuous time for sure.
