Merry Christmas my dear readers if this is a holiday that you are celebrating along with us. I’m returning to the topic of the brand-new Disney Pixar release “Soul” which opens today and if you missed our trailer post from a few weeks ago just click HERE to be on point with that. As noted in the close of that post, we helped share the news that instead of hitting the theaters this was going to the Disney+ streaming service for all to see provided they are subscribers. There isn’t a premium cost like they did with “Mulan”. Let’s review the premise and voice casting below shall we.

The Premise:
Joe Gardner, a middle school music teacher, has long dreamed of performing jazz music onstage, and finally gets a chance after impressing other jazz musicians during an opening act at the Half Note Club. However, an untimely accident causes Gardner’s soul to be separated from his body and begin to proceed to the Great Beyond, and Gardner escapes to the Great Before, a world where souls develop personalities, quirks, and traits before being sent off to Earth. There, Gardner must work with souls in training at the Great Before, such as 22, a soul with a dim view on the concept of life, in order to return to Earth before his body dies and also avoid a soul-counter named Terry, who goes to earth to find Joe and bring him back to the afterlife to meet her quota.

Maybe you weren’t expecting a sequel to the “Coming To America” film but then again since everything seems to get one these days maybe you were. The new film is called “Coming 2 America” and as you will see in the first trailer, appears to reunite most of the original films cast. Some are even playing the multiple roles that they did the first time so let’s take a look at this clip.

The Premise: Set after the events of the first film, former Prince Akeem Joffer is set to become King of Zamunda when he discovers he has a son he never knew about in America – a street savvy Queens native named Lavelle. Honoring his royal father’s dying wish to groom this son as the crown prince, Akeem and Semmi set off to America once again. (c/o Paramount Pictures)

Presenting The 2020 Saks Fifth Avenue Holiday Light Show “This Is How We Celebrate”

This past Thursday, I embarked on what amounted to being the Phase 2 aspect of my now annual “Christmas Tree Visuals” adventures in my NYC Metropolis. Years ago all of the images would fall to several posts but over the last few I’ve stockpiled them all to socials first and then compile for a larger narrative for “The Chronicles”. This year, the Saks Fifth Avenue light show was called “This Is How We Celebrate” and I’m happy to share this visual with our world of readers to enjoy from the safety of their own homes. This is especially important with a deadly virus out there doing its thing. Please relax and enjoy this short clip.

Production Notes: The night was a comfortable one and not too cold and with the pandemic keeping tremendous crowds away it was a little easier to navigate the streets. As you can see I recorded this from an opposite corner and this would be the very first time using my Canon Powershot for such an event. My handy Samsung point and shoot had finally stopped functioning but it sure did serve me well for many a year of conventions and this kind of stuff. So not only was this the first time using that Canon device, but this will make for the second video for our still brand-spanking new YouTube Channel. For many years, “The Chronicles” found its video content posting to my personal channel but now we are using one of our own. We ask that you kindly subscribe and click the notification bell on the channel itself by clicking HERE. The more subs we can get the more options open up for the outlet and while I have you, don’t forget to visit our Official Instagram as well because a wealth of holiday photos and videos have been loaded up there for your viewing pleasure.

While its still a little early, we wish you all a very “Merry Christmas” and a good season overall. Stay healthy, keep to the rules of your region and wear a mask when required and practice the distancing if in a large group. I look forward to healthier times for us all.

Netflix Presents “Cobra Kai” Season 3 Official Trailer

Back in August, “The Chronicles” helped to share the news that the Netflix streaming service had picked up the first two seasons of the YouTube Original Series “Cobra Kai”. This is a series that picks up many years after the movies for “Karate Kid” had taken place and shows us all what became of the characters. Now under Netflix control, the series has a new life and the Official Trailer for the third season is presented for your review. I copied the casting from the first two seasons for good measure. Take a look.

The Premise: New year. New season. Still badass. Season 3 of Cobra Kai premieres this January only on Netflix. And remember, Cobra Kai Never Dies. (c/o Netflix YouTube Channel)
