The fans of Disney’s “Mulan” were really getting excited for today because it’s the day that the live-action film was supposed to be released in theaters everywhere and based on this dreaded Coronavirus Pandemic, all of the clubs, arenas, movie theaters and pubs are closed to the assembled public. The officials don’t want to risk anyone getting sick as this virus seems nasty and powerful. It’s better to be safe than sorry. My original plan was to have a “Now Playing” post and instead I am sharing the posters that I wanted to showcase a few weeks ago. I figured that I might as well do something with the date to play on the topic of the film. We do have a lot of trailers for you to enjoy already so please consider clicking HERE so it can show you all of the “Mulan” concent on a new tab. Below you’ll find the teaser poster and then a bunch of character ones and then some from the various kinds of theater experiences that you were originally going to be able to enjoy. Shall we begin? Of course.

The latest feature coming from Disney Pixar is called “Soul” and it’s a very interesting premise for sure. The first trailer just recently dropped and I’ve presented that along with some background and the voice casting for this animated release. Check it out down below.

The Premise:
Joe Gardner, a middle school music teacher, has long dreamed of performing jazz music onstage, and finally gets a chance after impressing other jazz musicians during an opening act at the Half Note Club. However, an untimely accident causes Gardner’s soul to be separated from his body and begin to proceed to the Great Beyond, and Gardner escapes to the Great Before, a world where souls develop personalities, quirks, and traits before being sent off to Earth. There, Gardner must work with souls in training at the Great Before, such as 22, a soul with a dim view on the concept of life, in order to return to Earth before his body dies and also avoid a soul-counter named Terry, who goes to earth to find Joe and bring him back to the afterlife to meet her quota.

The 2020 Tribeca Film Festival Has Been Postponed Due To Coronavirus Concerns

tribeca film festival logo

The Statement:
“We founded the Tribeca Film Festival as a way to heal our community after the devastation of the 9/11 attacks in 2001. We were determined to overcome our fear and anxiety by joining together. It is in our DNA to march forward while caring about our community, said Jane Rosenthal, co-founder and CEO of Tribeca Enterprises.

We have made the difficult decision to postpone the 19th Tribeca Film Festival (April 15-26) based on the announcement by Gov. Andrew Cuomo that events of 500 people or more are banned due to the spread of the novel coronavirus. We are committed to ensuring the health and safety of the public while also supporting our friends, filmmakers and storytellers who look to Tribeca as a platform to showcase their work to audiences. We will be back to you shortly with our plans.”

Please check the website linked below for the latest updates, ticket refund information and details about how we are moving forward.

*** end of transmission ***

Piercing Ken Thoughts: Considering just how many announcements that I’ve made based on the continued spread of this Coronavirus, I think at this point it might be safe to say that “2020 is cancelled” because so many events have been postponed or cancelled outright. I’m not just referring to things happening next week but also things that were still months away from happening. I’ve pretty much run out of closing editorial responses to these kinds of announcements and I was looking forward to seeing what this years even was to be about. Please stay tunes to our Events Calendar for any updated listings, I will be adding back in the cancelled stuff as soon as I learn about what their new dates are. Stay healthy out there.

Synopsis: After the events of the first film, Poppy and Branch discover that they are six other different kinds of Trolls scattered over six different lands, each devoted to a different form of music: Pop, Funk, Classical, Techno, Country and Rock. Their world is about to get a lot bigger, and a whole lot louder, as member of hard-rock royalty, Queen Barb, aided by her father King Thrash, wants to destroy all other kinds of music to let rock reign supreme. With the fate of the world at stake, Poppy and Branch, along with their friends — Smidge, Legsly, Biggie, Satin and Chenille, Cooper, Guy Diamond and Tiny Diamond — set out to visit all the other lands to unify the Trolls in harmony against Barb, who’s looking to upstage them all and turn them into rock zombies. Meanwhile, Branch tries to find a way to tell Poppy how he feels about her.
