Piercing Ken Thoughts: With that long a rundown I’m not going to add too much extra to the mix and to be honest I only really ended up seeing a lot of the films that didn’t get nods from The Academy anyway. I saw “Shang-Chi”, “Spider-Man” and “Free Guy” and enjoyed them immensely but missed “Dune” which a number of my Science Fiction friends said was worthwhile. In looking over this list I do see quite a few films that I still must add to my queue or see if friends have the DVD to lend me for a couple of days. Yes some people I know still purchase DVD’s and other stuff along those lines. So wrapping this up I wonder what you in the readership thinks about the nominations for the 94th Annual Academy Awards. You can chime in down below in the comments to let me know what you think and please let’s stick to the topic at hand to make the most sense. I will return with more of their announcements as I see them hitting our mailbox and until next time please stay safe out there.

Presenting The 39th AVN Awards Winners Rundown

awards show logos, avn awards, avn awards logo

Last year, during the height of the pandemic, I shared the winners circle rundown for the 38th AVN Awards for the very first time on “The Chronicles of Piercing Ken” website. As you are probably aware, these are Adult Film Industry awards and include their related associations. Since I have been known to broadcast a wide variety of awards show rundowns on this site as you can see by clicking HERE, I decided that in the interest of fairness and inclusion that I should add this one in as well. There isn’t anything NSFW down below in the rundown IMHO and I’ve not shared any of the publicity images from the awards which was once again done virtually and featured both Mia Malkova and Mighty Emelia as the co-hosts. According to research this event comes in association with the folks at MyFreeCams and if such content is not to your liking, just wait in the sidelines for the time being until our next entertainment or opinion piece runs. Here now are the winners of the 39th Annual AVN Awards.

Female Performer of the Year: Gianna Dior

Male Performer of the Year: Tommy Pistol

Best Actress: Kenna James – Under the Veil, MissaX

Best Actor: Tommy Pistol – Under the Veil, MissaX

Recording Academy and CBS Postpone The 64th Annual Grammy Awards Show

After careful consideration and analysis with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community and our many partners, the Recording Academy and CBS have postponed the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards Show.

The following is a Joint Statement from the Recording Academy and CBS:

“After careful consideration and analysis with city and state officials, health and safety experts, the artist community and our many partners, the Recording Academy and CBS have postponed the 64th Annual GRAMMY Awards Show. The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority. Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31st simply contains too many risks. We look forward to celebrating Music’s Biggest Night on a future date, which will be announced soon.”

*** end of statement ***

Piercing Ken Thoughts: To be honest this announcement doesn’t surprise me at all because the surges in cases of the virus have pretty much quadrupled over the last couple of weeks and I am watching (and reporting on) a number of Broadway Theatre closures or hiatuses while many hope to wait this out. The Grammys are an event with too many people ensconced in a large space and while protocols on safety were likely in place after being mapped out, the best place to be for everyone involved is in front of a Zoom conference as opposed to being on top of one another. I know you are very likely tired of this kind of news but that is where we are. I suggest you mask up before you go anyplace and if you find them uncomfortable join the club since I can’t always breathe in the things – I still wear them and especially on the subway which is loaded with folks who choose not too. I am not taking my chances that they will pass something onto be but let me get off the soapbox. If you want to peruse the Nominations list just click HERE. I’d get a cup of coffee for that as its one hell of a list. Stay safe out there I will see you all again soon.

Now with this all being lined out, let’s take a look at this years nominations. Enjoy.
