The 74th Annual Tony Award Winners Are Announced

The Tony Award winners were announced/revealed last night and while its a show that I generally enjoy watching I wasn’t able to do so this year because the network decided to air the awards broadcast on the Paramount+ streaming service while a celebratory concert mixed with some announcements would air in tandem on the public network. Though I had a subscription to Paramount+ for a short time based on a discounted rate, I let it lapse since I have Netflix, Disney+ and HBO Max to contend with and don’t need it but I digress. I did my best to keep up with the filtering in announcements but ended up waiting for this morning to share the news with you. Let’s go.

Piercing Ken Thoughts: Before I say anything else let me say “Congratulations” to all the winners of the 74th Annual Tony Awards. It’s nice to see such hard work paying off and especially after so many months of downtime. Now I know that I’ve mentioned before that Broadway shows are one of the things that I greatly enjoy but don’t always get around to doing. It’s mostly because of cost and scheduling for me since I am generally kept pretty busy over on the PiercingMetal.com website. Maybe I should start looking to do some Broadway show reviews for this site because that might let me see more of them. There are several of the winners circle that I am curious about so I will keep you posted. As I close this rundown up I wonder what you folks in the readership think about the reveals. Did your favorites win out at the end of the day or were they cheated of the honor in your opinion. I’ll ask you to chime in down below in the comments if you have anything to add to the mix and I’m also rather curious about which shows you are most interested in seeing now that Broadway has returned. You can type that in as a comment as well because its great information and might find me exploring it as well. Though it’s always generally on my list of agenda items, I didn’t get to a single play this past season which sadly continued my time away from the theater in general. Stay safe out there and follow the mandates, I will see you next time around.
