We’ve already pointed out that the rigins of the play “In The Heights” go back as far as 1999, and it finally got a trailer clip which we helped to broadcast back in 2019 which many of us refer to as “The Before Times” based on how many things were pushed back based on the pandemic. If you didn’t see that post click HERE to be up to speed. Now it’s time to enjoy a brand-new trailer which is listed as the “Powerful” Trailer. Enjoy.

Storyline: “Lights up on Washington Heights… The scent of a cafecito caliente hangs in the air just outside of the 181st Street subway stop, where a kaleidoscope of dreams rallies this vibrant and tight-knit community. At the intersection of it all is the likeable, magnetic bodega owner Usnavi, who saves every penny from his daily grind as he hopes, imagines and sings about a better life.” (c/o Warner Brothers Pictures)

Piercing Ken Thoughts: When I first posted the initial trailer I had pointed out that while this looked interesting that it’s not the kind of release that I rush to see. I like a good musical for sure but I am not too schooled in this original story by the talented Lin-Manuel Miranda. I maintain that I am happy to see it finally coming to the big screen as it seemed to be in a bit of a holding pattern for far too long. I’m sure that the mind-blowing success of his “Hamilton” show has given the artist a whole lot more power and good for him. We are Broadway fans here at the Creative Command HQ and now that the film will premiere on HBO Max as well as being in some theaters there is more of a chance for me to see it. There are a ton of amazing shows and films coming to the streaming services because of the pandemic so I might as well watch a number of different things when I have the time to do so.
