“Woke up this morning, got yourself a gun”…. If you know your Pop Culture references, you know full well that this is the opening line of the song by Alabama 3 that played during the intro to HBO’s “The Sopranos”. While many fans expected some kind of sequel series or film over the course of the 14 years its been since that ended, we are getting a prequel instead from Warner Brothers Pictures and Chase Films with “The Many Saints Of Newark”. The Official Trailer for the film was recently revealed and is presented below for your attention with some light premise, casting and art. Take a look.
We’ve already pointed out that the rigins of the play “In The Heights” go back as far as 1999, and it finally got a trailer clip which we helped to broadcast back in 2019 which many of us refer to as “The Before Times” based on how many things were pushed back based on the pandemic. If you didn’t see that post click HERE to be up to speed. Now it’s time to enjoy a brand-new trailer which is listed as the “Powerful” Trailer. Enjoy.
Storyline: “Lights up on Washington Heights… The scent of a cafecito caliente hangs in the air just outside of the 181st Street subway stop, where a kaleidoscope of dreams rallies this vibrant and tight-knit community. At the intersection of it all is the likeable, magnetic bodega owner Usnavi, who saves every penny from his daily grind as he hopes, imagines and sings about a better life.” (c/o Warner Brothers Pictures) Continue reading Warner Brothers Pictures: “In The Heights” Powerful Trailer→
Hey Fiends, I’m back with some more scoop on the brand-new film “The Witches” which not only is a more in tune with the book by Roald Dahl, but also arrives on your preferred method of enjoying film and television just before Halloween. How cool is that? I discussed the trailer HERE if you missed it and now to move it along, please review the poster, premise and casting. Sure I will close out with some editorial as is my standard operating procedure.
In 1990, the world saw an adaptation of the 1983 novel by Roald Dahl entitled “The Witches” and it was a quirky fun ride into some supernatural spookiness. Now, in 2020, we are receiving a somewhat closer to the original novel reimagining starring Anne Hathaway as the High Witch. The first official trailer was just released and you can enjoy it down below.
As previously discussed over on the PiercingMetal website, the DC Fandome is here and will take place for several hours on a computer or mobile device near you. Some of the highlights that were shared on that dotcom can be perused by clicking HERE. Be sure to check that out for some insight.
Piercing Ken Thoughts: Since I hit the nail on the head in my closing announcement on PiercingMetal.com, I am just going to repeat my words which said “Straight up I will say that there is a lot of things that I am expecting to see revealed during the DC Fandome and I think that I am most interested in the upcoming movie and television series trailers. There has to be a new “Wonder Woman 1984” clip at this point and could we hope that something from the late 2021 “The Batman” film as well? I am hoping for a clip from “Superman and Lois” and maybe a tease of some other series that are being planned out. I imagine we shall see more about “Stargirl” and the other shows that lived on the DC Universe streaming service. Some of the more-gossipy sites had reported that massive layoffs took place in the company and what this means for all the things that we enjoy is anyone’s guess. I imagine its “more as the story develops”. For now I am just going to see what is offered up and hope that you are as well. I’ve been assigned some work today, so my time is sporadic in terms of my full devotion to this happening. Considering that both New York Comic Con and Anime NYC convention were cancelled due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, I see more events like this one coming to pass. Closing up I guess it’s safe to say that there will be a heavy supply of content hitting our Pop Culture features. Chime in down below with your thoughts about this whole thing and I will see you next time.”
