Presenting: 73rd Directors Guild of America Awards Nominees

Readers of “The Chronicles” are well aware of our interest in supporting a healthy number of awards shows since it keeps many of our Pop Culture focuses interesting and educates us on stuff we might not have been aware of at the moment. This is the first time ever that I am including the Directors Guild Of America awards to our rundowns so before we get to this years nominations, here is a brief about them.

Presenting The 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards Winners

The 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards were handed out in a virtual ceremony that was hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler who are returning for the fourth time, after hosting in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Fey and Poehler will share duties from their respective cities, with Fey on the East Coast and Poehler on the West Coast. Fey will be live from New York’s Rainbow Room, Poehler will be live from the Beverly Hilton, in Beverly Hills, and nominees, from various locations around the world. The full list of winners are:

Presenting The 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards Nominations

The Press Release:
Nominees for the 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards honoring outstanding individual, cast and ensemble performances for the past year* were announced this morning by Lily Collins (Emily in Paris, MANK) and Daveed Diggs (Snowpiercer, BLINDSPOTTING, The Good Lord Bird) via Instagram Live. The nominees for outstanding action performances by film and television stunt ensembles were announced this morning by Jason George (Station 19) and Elizabeth McLaughlin (Grand Hotel) who were introduced by SAG-AFTRA President Gabrielle Carteris. The 27th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards will be simulcast on TNT and TBS on Sunday, April 4, 2021, at 9 p.m. (ET) / 6 p.m. (PT). An encore will air on TNT at 11 p.m. (ET) / 8 p.m. (PT).

The Press Release:
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) has announced the nominees for the 78th Annual Golden Globe Awards. Sarah Jessica Parker, six-time Golden Globe winner, and Taraji P. Henson, Golden Globe winner, disclosed the nominees.

For the first time in the history of the Golden Globes, the nominations were announced virtually, following the current safety measures during the Covid pandemic.

The 78th Golden Globes will take place on February 28, coast to coast from 5 pm to 8 pm PT/8-11 ET on NBC. The event will be hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, returning for the fourth time, after hosting in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Fey and Poehler will share duties from their respective cities, with Fey on the East Coast and Poehler on the West Coast.
