Dear Electric Zoo Family,
It is with a broken heart that we deeply regret to inform you that, despite our tireless efforts and round-the-clock commitment, we have made the painful decision to cancel the first day of Electric Zoo.
This year has presented unparalleled challenges for everyone. The global supply chain disruptions have impacted industries worldwide, and, sadly, our beloved festival has not been immune. These unexpected delays have prevented us from completing the construction of the main stage in time for Day 1.
The Press Release:
Organizers of the Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival New York have announced the postponement of the 2023 event. The decision to regroup comes after a 10-year run for what has become a major outdoor, family event and a staple of summer fun in southeastern Queens.
“We are committed to delivering an affordable wholesome family event at the highest level for our patrons, sponsors, and other stakeholders,” stated Eddy Edwards, Managing Partner of Jamaican Jerk Festival NY, LLC, promoters of the event in association with VP Records. “We have worked each year to improve on what’s already been achieved and will use this time to improve our future events.”
Fans are invited to enjoy a ‘Jerk’ filled experience at the Florida Grace Jamaican Jerk Festival on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Miramar Regional Park. Details will be released in the coming weeks through our social media channels and the festival’s website www.jerkfestival.com

Piercing Ken Thoughts: Sorry to help share along the sad news to anyone in the readership who attends this event but since its always a popular calendar entry for “The Chronicles” I figured that I should share along the press release that I got when I inquired about an event for this year. I’ve never actually attended this one since Queens can be such a hike for me, but I do love some spicy eats and maybe a visit is in my future for the next time around. That’s all I have on this one. I will make mention that there is very likely this kind of cuisine at the Queens Night Market which has begun on the weekends over in Flushing Meadows Corona Park if you feel like checking that out. It sounds interesting for me as well, but is a really long ride via the MTA from my neck of the woods. Thanks for reading, please stay safe out there.
Dear OZY Fest 2020 ticket holder — We hope you are staying safe and well during this unprecedented year.
The world has changed beyond recognition since we first announced the lineup for OZY Fest 2020, and so unfortunately this year’s event will be postponed to protect public health during the COVID-19 pandemic. All ticket holders have the option between rolling over their ticket to 2021, or receiving a full refund. If you wish for your tickets to rollover to 2021, please click here to follow the rollover instructions from our official ticketing vendor, Front Gate Tickets. All rollovers must be claimed by Friday, July 10, at 11.59pm ET. Continue reading Ozy Fest 2020 Cancelled By Organizers Amid Coronavirus Concerns→
In a wave of cancellations of concerts, conventions and festival gatherings that bring in lots and lots of people comes the not so surprising news that the New York Renaissance Faire for 2020 has been cancelled. The organizers posted a short time ago to their website and social networks and we have embedded this information for your perusal and even typed the statement if the graphic is a little hard to read on your respective device.
You might remember our recently discussing this weekends OZY Fest (seen HERE in case you don’t). Sadly, the city has opted to cancel the event based on the extreme heat that was forecast for the weekend. At last check the news reported in the hundred plus as a real feel. Read more down below.
Due to historic temperatures in New York this weekend, the City of New York has canceled OZY Fest. The National Weather Service issued an “Excessive Heat Warning” through Sunday, which happens when the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 105 degrees or greater.
“The health and safety of New Yorkers is our most important concern, and we are left with no other option but to cancel all large-scale park events throughout New York City Saturday and Sunday. We are working hand-in-hand with OZY and others to make this as smooth a process as possible,” said Mayor Bill de Blasio. Continue reading IMPORTANT: The OZY Fest in Central Park Is CANCELLED!!!→
