Readers of my adventures here on “The Chronicles” know full well that one of the special events that I love to attend each and every summer is The Toy Insider’s “Sweet Suite”. This affair is a wonderful one and brings together scores of amazing companies and their reps to showcase the “must have” toys and games. If you’re new to these narrative, let me tell you that the folks at The Toy Insider really know their stuff and I was happy to have met them at the annual Toy Fair several years ago.
Of course the lay of the land right now is that physical events are pretty much impossible and the need to go virtual is a necessity. Such was the case for this soiree and I’ve culled together some visuals in a fun little overview of the “Sweet Suite @ Home” that begins with a login…..Let’s go.
Now that we’ve successfully logged in, its time to look around the show floor and as you can see its quite impressive. I felt like I was a character in a video game because as you can see the overall vibe you see once “inside the matrix” gives you that sense.

The LEGO Group today revealed the full product portfolio for its LEGO® Super Mario™ experience. Fans can expand on the LEGO Super Mario range announced in April with a whole new range of Expansion Sets, collectible Character Packs and Power-Up Packs. The result of a unique partnership with Nintendo, LEGO Super Mario will reinvent the way people interact with Super Mario in the physical world. The products announced today give fans the chance to build Mario’s house, search for treasure hidden by Toad, and defeat a Koopa Troopa in the Guarded Fortress. And of course that’s not all!
The partnership was announced earlier this year, and in April the fun-packed Adventures with Mario Starter Course was revealed alongside two Expansion Sets. The Starter Course is key to unlocking the entire play, being the only set to feature the interactive LEGO® Mario™ figure that collects coins in game levels created with LEGO bricks. As previously mentioned, the Media High Command of “The Chronicles” AND the PiercingMetal.com website were in attendance at the annual Toy Fair and believe it or not this was our 10th time attending as a member of the press. One of the highlights of the Toy Fair is the unveiling of the products that were given the title of “Toy Of The Year” and this is a feature that I post exclusively on “The Chronicles”. Its mostly because of the age-groups of the products so let’s have the envelope please and see these winners. Some narrative and links will be interspersed as I find inspiration. Enjoy.
When I was growing up I always loved the miniature cars from both Matchbox and Hot Wheels. I am always happy to see the Mattel brand coming up with creative items year after year.
Several posts ago, I shared a new and awesome building set from LEGO with their Creator Expert “Gingerbread House”. I hope that you ended up ordering one since it looked like the perfect thing to set up near ones Christmas Tree.
